Safety

Last updated: 14 October 2026

How to stay safe on every Chandigarh Direct ride, whether you're riding or driving.

In an emergency, call 112

112 is India's emergency number for police, fire and ambulance. Call it first, then tell our support team.

Call 112

Before you get in

  • Check the number plate. It must match the plate shown in the app. If it doesn't, don't get in. Cancel the ride and report it on the Help page.
  • Check the driver's name and vehicle (make, model and colour) against the app.
  • Use the trip PIN when the app shows one: tell it to the driver only once you're at the vehicle and the details match. The trip starts only with the right PIN.
  • Wait for your ride somewhere public and well lit.

During the ride

  • Share your trip with a friend or family member so they know where you are and when you'll arrive. Use “Share trip” on the ride page, or send them the driver, vehicle and number plate.
  • Sit in the back seat and wear a seat belt.
  • You can ask the driver to stop if you feel unsafe. Get out in a busy, public place.
  • Pay only the fare shown in the app, by cash or UPI. Never share your UPI PIN or a login code with anyone.

For drivers

  • Confirm the rider's first name before starting the trip.
  • Follow traffic laws, don't use your phone while driving, and never drive tired.
  • You can decline or cancel a trip if a rider is abusive or you feel unsafe. In danger, call 112.
  • Report any incident to our support team as soon as you can.

Your details stay private

Drivers see only your first name and the trip points. Riders see the driver's first name, vehicle and a masked number. Read more in our Privacy Policy.

How to report a problem

  1. If anyone is in danger, call 112 first.
  2. Open the Help page, choose the ride and the “Safety” topic, and describe what happened.
  3. Our support team treats safety reports as the highest priority. We may suspend a driver or rider while we look into it, and we'll cooperate with the police.
